The list features top female lawyers who were chosen for their skills and accomplishments in the courtroom as well as their leadership outside of it.
Partner Elise Bloom is one of the nation’s top employment lawyers and effective discrimination and wage and hour, class/collective action trial lawyers. Elise advocates for the most powerful sports leagues and media and entertainment organizations in the U.S. She has successfully handled numerous high-profile employment discrimination matters for the NBA, NFL, MLS and MLB.
Elise is a consistent advocate for recruiting and retaining top-caliber female candidates. She serves as a sponsor in Proskauer’s Women’s Sponsorship Program, which selects mid- and senior-level lawyers and pairs them with distinguished partners who serve as sponsors to support their career development and professional growth. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York, and is an active member of the New York City Bar Association’s Sports Law Committee.
Amanda is Chair of Proskauer’s Tax Department. She has advised on some of the biggest headline-making deals over the past year, including the $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos; Church & Dwight’s acquisition of the Hero Mighty Patch® brand and other acne treatment products for $630 million; and DataBank’s equity recapitalization, which valued the nationwide edge data center platform at $1.2 billion.
As the former Chair of Proskauer’s Evaluations Committee, Amanda has long played an integral role in the recruitment, mentoring, retention and promotion of women lawyers at the Firm. Currently, she champions diverse associates through Proskauer’s award-winning mentorship program, the Pipeline Initiative. Amanda is also active in her local community. She is a multi-year recipient of Proskauer’s Golden Gavel Award for her work in a range of pro bono activities and serves as the Vice President of the Bottomless Closet and is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section.
To select the honorees, Crain’s consulted with trusted sources in the legal industry and the New York business world. Each nomination submitted by an organization or individual in the metropolitan area were carefully vetted.
