2L Summer Program
Don't miss your chance to engage in cutting-edge legal work and forge long-lasting connections that will shape the trajectory of your legal career. As one former summer associate described Proskauer, we are the “embodiment of Big Law with Big Heart.” Our 10-week summer program is intentionally structured to mirror life as a junior lawyer at Proskauer, giving you direct exposure to the sophisticated, high-stakes matters that define our practice.
You will work alongside nationally recognized practitioners gaining hands-on experience that challenges you to think strategically and creatively. Beyond the work, you will be welcomed into a community that values mentorship, collaboration, and authenticity. Our attorneys are committed to teaching, and there are frequent opportunities to receive feedback, develop practical skills, and explore practice areas that genuinely interest you. From partner-led trainings to small-group workshops, officewide social events, and pro bono opportunities that allow you to make a tangible impact, the program is designed to help you build confidence and find your place within the firm. By the end of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of the innovative, client-focused culture that sets Proskauer apart.

2L Silver Scholar Program
You may also choose to submit materials to be considered for Proskauer’s Silver Scholar program using the same application. Students selected as Silver Scholars will receive a $50,000 award to be paid in installments as follows:
- $10,000 upon arrival as a 2L summer associate
- $30,000 upon successfully completing the 2L summer program and accepting a full-time offer
- $10,000 after starting as a full-time associate
The Silver Scholar Program aims to attract law students who demonstrate a commitment to creating positive change—whether by advancing equality, expanding opportunity, or advocating for justice in their schools, workplaces, or communities.
In addition to the requirements above, you will be also be asked to submit an answer to one of the following prompts (limit of 500 words):
- Describe a community initiative, service project, or leadership role you’ve taken on that embodies the importance of advancing equality, expanding opportunity, or advocating for justice. What was the impact, and what did you learn about your ability to lead change?
- How do your background, experiences, or aspirations connect to the importance of equality, opportunity, and justice? Describe a specific moment that illustrates your commitment to one or more of these values and how it informs your future in the legal profession.

Challenging Work
You will work on important matters alongside some of the top lawyers in the field while building relationships with your colleagues. You might find yourself attending a deposition, courtroom argument or administrative hearing. Or being at the table in a labor arbitration. You might help in the formation of companies or be part of a team handling a merger or acquisition.

True Mentorship
Summer associates have two mentors: a partner to act as your reviewing attorney as well as an associate advisor. These people are there for you throughout the summer, to answer questions, give advice, and provide an assessment, at the middle and end of the summer so you will know where you are strongest and where your development opportunities are.

First-hand Experience
You have the chance to work with and observe experienced lawyers in action. Through our shadowing initiative, you will get exposure to everything from meetings and conference calls to depositions and arbitrations. Summers tell us that this experience is truly invaluable.

Sharpen Your Skills
Every day of your time with us represents part of your training – as you work with experienced professionals on client matters and gain their real-time feedback and direction. You will also have the chance to up your game in key areas through partner-led, interactive training workshops throughout your summer. These workshops focus on such topics as corporate negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, mediation and mock trials.

You will have many opportunities to join in social, cultural and recreational activities to get better acquainted with your fellow summers and lawyers at Proskauer. In recent years our summer associates have joined in a wide array of activities including Major League Baseball games, mixology events, the Tony Awards, scavenger hunts, private movie screenings and community service team projects, to name a few.
