November 5, 2014 (New York) – Proskauer announced the promotions of 14 lawyers, nine to partner and five to senior counsel, across the global law firm’s practices and offices.

Partner
- Rajani Gupta (Los Angeles) represents financial institutions as lenders and strategic investors, as well as buyout funds and corporations as borrowers, in domestic and international financings.
- Alexander Kaplan (New York) is a commercial litigator and trial lawyer focusing on intellectual property. He has particular experience in copyright law representing clients in the music and media industries, and trademark and false advertising law representing consumer products, pharmaceutical and medical devices companies.
- Anne Kim (Los Angeles) is a tax lawyer who represents clients with regard to a broad range of corporate and partnership tax matters, with a focus on representing clients that are publicly traded partnerships and private equity funds in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and multi-tranche and junior capital financings.
- Max Kirchner (London) represents investment banks and private equity sponsors in U.S. capital markets and leveraged finance transactions and works on complex high-yield bond offerings and initial public offerings by companies around the world.
- Adam Lupion (New York) represents professional sports teams and leagues, and employers in the financial services industry, with respect to a wide variety of labor and employment law matters.
- Joshua Miller (Washington, D.C.) advises buyers, sellers and investors on executive compensation and employee benefits matters in mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions. He also represents senior executives and public and private companies in connection with employment, severance, equity, bonus and other executive compensation arrangements.
- Faisal Ramzan (London) practice focuses on complex cross-border and domestic finance transactions and credit arrangements, particularly those financings that include multiple tranches of debt. He regularly structures and negotiates a wide range of financing facilities such as senior secured financings, mezzanine debt, second -lien loans, bifurcated and stretched senior unitranche facilities and holdco loans.
- Sabrina Rusnak-Carlson (Boston) represents agents and lenders in a variety of complex financings and credit arrangements, including multi-tiered, second lien, unitranche, mezzanine, and subordinated debt credit facilities and related intercreditor and interlender issues.
- Ana Vermal (Paris) focuses on complex international arbitration and litigation proceedings, involving joint ventures, acquisitions, construction projects, licensing agreements and distribution relationships. She has significant experience representing corporations from Europe, the United States and Latin America in international arbitration proceedings held in English, French and Spanish, and also acts as arbitrator.
Senior Counsel
- Stephanie Berdik (Boston) is a corporate lawyer with a focus on representing private investment funds. She advises U.S. and non-U.S. private investment fund sponsors on all aspects of the fund structuring and capital raising process, fund regulatory matters and compliance and operational issues.
- Roger Cohen (New York) represents health care and life science clients in a wide array of health care regulatory matters including matters relating to fraud and abuse, reimbursement, and health information security and privacy. He has also played a lead role in the successful defense of health care providers in numerous significant government investigations and in litigation of actions under the False Claims Act.
- Timothy Donovan(New York) focuses primarily on all tax matters relating to real estate investment trusts (REITs) and real estate funds including initial public offerings and other securities offerings, real estate transactions, complex partnership transactions and fund formation. He also has a significant focus on mergers and acquisitions involving traded and non-traded REITs, C corporations, S corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships.
- Safraz Ishmael (Boston) is a litigator who focuses his practice on technology-related disputes, with a particular emphasis on complex patent and trade secret litigation concerning technologies such as smartphones and mobile devices, Internet services and systems, computer software, fiber optic communications systems, digital television systems, and medical devices.
- Paul Polking (New York) negotiates, structures and documents real estate transactions, including commercial leases, acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets, joint ventures and real estate finance transactions.
