Marks the Third Time Kate has Been Named to List
LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2023 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that Labor & Employment partner Kate Gold has been named to The Daily Journal’s 2023 Top Women Lawyers. The feature recognizes the top female California lawyers doing cutting-edge legal work in their field. This is the third time since 2020 that Kate has been named to the annual list. She was also named to The Daily Journal’s Top Labor & Employment Lawyers in California list in 2022 and 2021.
Kate has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in a range of industries, including entertainment, financial services, private equity and health care, across all areas of employment law. A skilled litigator, she has represented employers in class and collective actions as well as in high-profile discrimination, retaliation, harassment, non-compete and wage/hour matters. Her household name clients entrust her with their most sensitive workplace investigations, which often result in confidential non-public resolutions. Kate also advises clients on sensitive claims of gender discrimination and harassment, as well as pay equity.
In addition to investigations and advice, Kate is lead counsel in several single plaintiff and class actions. She serves as lead counsel for Arrowhead Products, a Southern California critical sector manufacturer of components for the aerospace industry, in several single plaintiff discrimination matters as well as wage and hour class actions. One recently resolved matter involved claims for overtime, missed meal and rest breaks, and derivative claims by 1,200 class members, including two separate unions as well as non-union employees. Under the distinct aspects of the manufacturing industry Wage Order and collective bargaining agreements, Kate advanced creative arguments that ultimately mitigated a significant portion of risk for the client and resulted in a settlement which was a fraction of plaintiffs’ demand.
