NEW YORK, June 1, 2020 – Associate Sean Spence has been named to the National Bar Association’s Top 40 Under 40 – Nation's Best Advocates class of 2020-2021. This honor recognizes the nation’s top lawyers under the age of 40 who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, including in innovation, vision, leadership and legal and community involvement.
As a member of the Private Funds Group, Sean advises asset managers in connection with the formation of investment funds across the globe. He actively maintains a diverse practice, with recent matters including the representation of JLC Infrastructure, a minority-owned infrastructure firm focused on investments in the airport and energy sectors; Prisma Capital, a Brazilian asset manager focused on private equity investments throughout Brazil; and multiple Asian sovereign wealth funds in connection with billions of dollars in fund investments.
At Proskauer, Sean serves in several leadership positions. He is Co-Chair of the Black Lawyer Affinity Group and serves on the Hiring Committee. In addition, he leads a mentorship program dedicated to providing Black law students with access to the Firm’s diverse lawyers.
In 2020, Sean was also honored by the New York City Bar Association – selected as a Fellow for the Bar’s Associate Leadership Institute, an award-winning initiative geared toward advancing the careers of diverse senior associates at major law firms.
