February 27, 2017 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer was proud to host its annual celebration of Black History Month with an enlightening Q&A discussion featuring Lisa Borders, the President of the WNBA. Ms. Borders shared her personal background and what it was like growing up in the civil rights era while attending a desegregated independent private school in Atlanta.
She went on to draw upon what lessons she has cultivated through her vast professional experience which includes serving as Chair of the Coca-Cola Foundation, VP of Global Community Affairs at The Coca-Cola Company and President of the City Council and Vice Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia.
The event was hosted by Proskauer’s Black Lawyer Affinity Group which provides a forum for members to share ideas and experiences, holds events based on themes and topics of interest and celebrates the richness of backgrounds and perspectives that distinguishes the group. Associates Ebony Ray and Krista Whitaker served as co-chairs of the Black History Month program committee.
