PARIS, February 5, 2026 – Proskauer has added Laura Bavoux as a Restructuring and Special Situations partner in Paris. Laura’s arrival marks a strategic expansion of the Firm’s restructuring capabilities in France and strengthens the Firm’s ability to deliver sophisticated legal support in high-value, countercyclical work across Europe.
Laura’s practice focuses on special situations, restructuring, and bankruptcy. She is highly experienced in both in-court and out-of-court proceedings in France and in cross-border matters involving French stakeholders. Her clients include listed and unlisted companies, investment funds, shareholders, executives, and creditors. She also advises on governance conflicts and disputes with company lenders, including LBO debt restructurings.
A key strength of Laura’s practice is her ability to act for sponsors, investors, borrowers, and lenders, in French and international contexts. This versatility is particularly valuable in complex financial restructurings and distressed M&A transactions.
“With the French restructuring market being increasingly active, driven by rising corporate distress, evolving insolvency frameworks, leveraged debt issues and growing investor interest, Laura’s deep experience is especially welcome,” said Xavier Norlain, head of Proskauer’s Paris office. “Her expertise strengthens our Paris offering and reinforces our commitment to delivering cross-border solutions to our corporate and private capital and debt clients.”
“Adding Laura in Paris adds to our growing European cross border restructuring team, following the hiring of Clare Cottle and Andrew Payne in London,” said Vincent Indelicato, partner and global co-chair of the restructuring group at Proskauer. “France is home to a significant concentration of multinational corporations, financial institutions, and private equity players, all of whom increasingly require sophisticated legal support in distressed and turnaround situations. Laura’s arrival continues to position us to meet that demand.”
“I was drawn to the opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking environment,” said Laura. “Proskauer’s platform is built for innovation, combining top-tier private capital expertise with a client-first, bespoke approach. I am excited to help drive the Firm’s strategic growth and deliver world-class solutions in a market that’s evolving quickly.”
The Paris office has established itself as one of the leading transactional practices in France, increasing its foothold in the Paris market following the arrival of highly regarded corporate partners Xavier Norlain, Jeremy Scemama, Maud Manon and Matthieu Lampel who joined the firm in September 2023 to complement the firm’s global private capital expertise and growing European platform. The Firm’s Paris office has demonstrated exceptional growth since then, welcoming Agnès Rossi and Marcela Moraru in the Private Funds Group in 2024 and Gwenaël Kropfinger as partner in the Firm’s Tax Department in 2025.
