January 30, 2019 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer is proud to congratulate litigation partner Peter Sherwin for his election to vice-chair of the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC) at NYIAC’s annual meeting on January 17th. NYIAC is a nonprofit organization formed to advance, strengthen and promote the conduct of international arbitration in New York. Of his newly appointed position, Peter J.W. Sherwin shares, “NYIAC has become a central feature of international arbitration in New York under Jim Carter’s leadership, and I’m very excited to work with our new chair Edna Sussman and my co-vice chair Steve Younger to build on that and further enhance New York as a global leader in international arbitration.”
As head of Proskauer’s International Arbitration Group and a member of the Lodging & Gaming, Real Estate Litigation, Sports and Latin America Practices, Peter's practice focuses on acting as counsel in complex cross-border commercial disputes, often involving a joint venture, a licensing or distribution relationship, or an acquisition, most of which are resolved in international arbitration and the rest in federal and state courts in the United States.
