With the addition of 24 attorneys since January 2006 - a 36.9-percent growth rate - the firm is ranked 19th in this year's survey.
Proskauer's Boston office currently has 89 lawyers and 77 support staff. Since opening in February 2004 with 15 attorneys, the office has continued to expand its numbers and capabilities and is home to one of the world's top private equity and finance practices, representing over 300 funds, lenders and institutional investors worldwide, and also boasts locally-based top-tier intellectual property, corporate finance, litigation, labor and employment, and corporate governance and transactional practices.
"The growth we have experienced since we opened this office in 2004 has been astounding," said Steven Bauer, who heads Proskauer's Boston Office and is a partner in the firm's Patent Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. "I continue to be exceptionally proud and humbled by the work we do and the talent we have. 2007 will undoubtedly be yet another exciting year for us - we have already announced that we hope to hire 10 more attorneys in the next 3 months and we are now planning on building out a third floor in the same time period."
In 2006, Proskauer's Boston office announced a number of significant new additions including Ian Blumenstein, a corporate finance and high-yield debt attorney who joined as partner; Peter Antoszyk, a finance, junior capital and bankruptcy attorney who joined as partner; and Michael Harrington, a private equity transactional attorney who joined as senior counsel.
