October 20, 2017 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer hosted the board installation ceremony for the Metropolitan Black Bar Association (MBBA), where Carl Forbes Jr. was sworn in as a new board member. Among the attendees were Paula Edgar, President of Metropolitan Black Bar Association, and Ayisha McHugh, a Proskauer Silver Scholar recipient and 2018 summer associate.
Carl is an associate in Proskauer’s Litigation Department and serves as co-chair of the Firm's Black Lawyer Affinity Group. Additionally, he was recently recognized as an Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association for his commitment to pro bono legal work.
The MBBA is a citywide association of African-American and other minority lawyers, that aims to advance equality and excellence in the pursuit of justice, aid the progress of blacks and other minorities in the profession, address legal issues affecting the citywide community, and foster the study of law by encouraging the personal and professional development of young lawyers and law students.
