December 6, 2019 (New York) – Proskauer partners Rob Freeman and Frank Saviano have been named to Variety’s 2019 Dealmakers Impact Report, recognizing global leaders in the media and entertainment industry.
A partner in Proskauer’s market-leading Sports Law Group and co-head of the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Group, Rob has been featured in Variety’s Dealmaker Elite New York list for the past three years. Rob is the leading private practice lawyer in the U.S. for structuring and negotiating the deals that shape the way consumers access and view both entertainment and sports content today. Recently, Rob’s industry-shaping deals have included his representation of longtime client Discovery Communications in its $2 billion+ strategic alliance with the PGA Tour to develop and launch a new “home of golf” direct-to-consumer programming service, “GOLFTV,” outside the U.S. and advising The Stars Group in connection with the formation of a first-of-its-kind media and sports wagering partnership in the U.S. with FOX Sports and the launch of FOXBET.
Frank, a partner in Proskauer’s Sports Law Group, represents some of the most prominent organizations in sports and media on their most critical and complex matters. Frank has advised on sports media rights deals with an aggregate value of nearly $20 billion, including many of the most significant sports media deals of the last decade. Frank recently represented the BIG EAST Conference, in connection with the University of Connecticut rejoining the Conference. Among Frank’s recent work is his representation of The Los Angeles 2028 Organizing Committee in its groundbreaking partnership with NBCUniversal to sell advertising and sponsorship rights for Team USA and each edition of the Olympic and Paralympic Games from 2021 through 2028.
