- Advising NFT startup on first-ever funding round: Proskauer served as the primary advisor to Doodles, a brand-new NFT company, on its first-ever round of financing and corporate structuring. Doodles launched in October 2021 and within a year, became one of the most valuable NFT collections on the market, generating nearly $500 million in secondary trading volume. The company closed its funding round in September 2022, with $54 million of investment and a $704 million valuation.
- Key victories for multi-national company: Proskauer secured a landmark victory for Monsanto in a case brought by a woman claiming that the use of the herbicide Roundup caused her non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A California jury rejected the claims, returning a defense verdict on all counts. The verdict in Stephens v. Monsanto marked the second defense verdict in the Roundup mass tort litigation. The Firm also secured its second decisive victory for Monsanto in a case brought by multiple plaintiffs who claimed Roundup caused their non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A St. Louis jury roundly rejected these claims following a five-week trial, returning a complete defense verdict.
- Lead employment counsel to GRAMMY Organization: Proskauer is the lead employment counsel to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (The Recording Academy / THE GRAMMY Organization), a California-based, non-profit organization of musicians, producers, recording engineers, and other recording professionals, as well as MusiCares, the charitable arm of the GRAMMY Organization. The Firm represents the organizations in all their employment matters, advice, counseling and litigation.
