November 18, 2020 (New York) – Since 2014, Proskauer has partnered with the Bowery Mission to serve meals to the homeless and food-insecure men and women on New York’s Lower East Side. This past holiday season (2019) alone, Proskauer volunteers gave more than 120 hours of their time to provide over 1,500 meals to our neighbors in need. In March, as the Firm pivoted to working remotely in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Proskauer developed new programs with longtime nonprofit partners like the Bowery Mission in order to support vulnerable populations in these most challenging times.
In late October, Proskauer hosted two virtual career readiness workshops for the men and women participating in the Bowery Mission’s residential and vocational programs, who are looking to reconnect with the workplace through stable employment. The workshops covered a range of topics including resume writing, interview preparation, goal setting, time management, and organizational skills, and sought to offer helpful guidance in building out one’s career path. Special thanks to the following Proskauer colleagues for leading this effort with the Bowery Mission: associate director of human resources associate director of human resources Mark Bunbury, help desk supervisor Daniel Brennan, senior benefits specialist Todd Buchanan, director of legal recruiting Rachel Kleiner, associate Zachary Klinger, director of internal audit Maura McDonagh and manager of executive committee initiatives Rita Rausch.
Proskauer proudly supports the Bowery Mission’s residents through our Career Readiness series. Our volunteers provided guidance and advice on resume writing, interview preparation, organization, time management and the soft skills needed to set them apart from other candidates as they reconnect with careers and their paths to success.
