LONDON, March 22, 2022 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, today announced that it has acted as lead counsel to Enra Specialist Finance (Enra) and its shareholders on its sale to Elliott Advisors (UK) Limited, an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management LP, a global investment management company.

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions, including FCA approval.

Founded in 2002, Enra is a leading non-bank mortgage lender in the UK, with a diverse property-secured lending proposition.

Exponent Private Equity, a London-based private equity firm with a long track record of backing founder-led businesses in sectors including financial services, acquired a majority stake in Enra in 2017 with the current management retaining a significant minority stake.

The Proskauer team advising Enra was led by partners Andrew Wingfield and Andrew Houghton and associate Bradley Mycock (M&A).

Proskauer has a wealth of experience in the financial services sector, advising the industry on their most critical deals, with strengths across the sector, including fintech, insurance/insuretech, payments and wealth management. The team has recently acted as lead counsel to Global Shares Plc and its stakeholders on the sale of Global Shares to J.P Morgan; acted as lead counsel to insurance fintech CFC and its stakeholders on a significant investment joint-led by EQT and Vitruvian Partners, two of Europe’s leading private equity firms and advised AnaCap Financial Partners on its agreement with Carrefour Group for the purchase of a majority stake in Market Pay, an end-to-end payments platform.
