NEW YORK, January 10, 2023 – Leading international law firm Proskauer is delighted to announce that partner Sean Spence and associate M. Rina Kim have been named to the Lawyers of Color 2022 Hot List, which recognizes the most dynamic lawyers of color who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession.
Those named to this year’s list include law firm associates and partners, in-house counsel and government attorneys.

As a newly promoted partner in Proskauer’s Corporate Department and a member of its Private Funds Group, Sean maintains a global practice advising asset managers in connection with private equity fund formations, internal governance and ongoing fund operations. As co-chair of the Firm’s Black Lawyer Affinity Group, Sean was integral in launching Proskauer’s Path Forward speaker series on racial equity and is a member of the Firm’s Hiring and Summer Program committees.
Rina is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department focusing on complex securities and commercial litigation issues surrounding financial statements, disclosures, investigations and bankruptcy restructuring, applying her expertise as a certified public accountant. In addition to maintaining an active and diverse pro bono practice, with a focus on immigration law, special education rights, and racial justice, Rina is an active member of the Firm’s Asian Lawyer Affinity Group and also the president of the Korean American Bar Association (KABA) of Washington, D.C. In her role as president, she has spearheaded an infrastructural framework to form a coalition of 13 KABAs to address issues on a national scale, such as supporting diverse law student interests and fighting for racial justice.
The annual Hot List is selected by an editorial committee composed of staff, fellows and advisers. Those named to this year’s list were selected based on their noteworthy accomplishments, giving special attention to candidates who are active in diversity pipeline initiatives.
