Yonatan Grossman-Boder

Yonatan (Yoni) Grossman-Boder is special labor relations counsel in Proskauer's Labor & Employment Law Department, where he advises employers across the full spectrum of traditional labor law matters. His practice focuses on collective bargaining, union organizing campaigns, labor disputes, arbitration proceedings, work stoppages, and strategic labor relations counseling. He regularly represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board, federal courts, and the New York State Public Employment Relations Board.

Yoni advises employers with sophisticated unionized workforces across a range of sectors, including higher education, entertainment and media, transportation, construction, healthcare, non-profit, and cultural institutions. He serves as a trusted counselor to management teams navigating complex labor relations challenges in highly visible and heavily organized environments.

Yoni is an advisor to many of the nation's leading research universities and academic institutions on their most complex labor relations challenges, including collective bargaining with graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty units, staff units, and other bargaining units. Among the institutions he has represented are Caltech, Syracuse University, Cornell University, Yale University, the University of Chicago, and Rockefeller University. He has played a central role in responding to unprecedented organizing activity at universities and has negotiated multiple first collective bargaining agreements, including in matters where negotiations had previously stalled.

Yoni also counsels employers across industries through every stage of union organizing, negotiations and litigation. He advises on organizing strategy, election agreements, labor relations, and workplace disputes. He has negotiated innovative private election agreements that provide employers with enhanced protections during organizing campaigns, including strike-related safeguards and other protections not typically available in representation proceedings. He works closely with management teams to develop labor relations strategies during high-stakes organizing drives, work stoppages, grievances, arbitrations, negotiations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and federal courts.

In addition to his client work, Yoni is relied upon for his thoughts on emerging labor law developments. He helps lead Proskauer's labor blog and regularly authors analyses of significant NLRB decisions, regulatory developments, and evolving labor law trends.

Before joining Proskauer, Yoni clerked for the Honorable Richard M. Gergel of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. He earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from Columbia University.
