John A. Beck is a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Funds Group. John’s practice focuses on representing private investment fund sponsors and investment advisers in organizing, structuring, negotiating and marketing private investment funds across all aspects of the fund-raising process. In addition, John counsels fund sponsors on their internal governance, regulatory compliance and ongoing day-to-day operations and maintenance, as well as the structuring of their internal economic arrangements, organization and management.
John’s clients operate a wide range of strategies, including venture capital, growth equity, buyout, credit and debt, real estate, co-investment, secondary and fund-of-funds, and have assets under management ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of billions of dollars.
As part of his practice, John also advises sponsors, institutional investors, family offices and fund-of-funds on all aspects of the acquisition and disposition of private investment fund interests in the U.S. and abroad, both on a primary basis and in connection with portfolio sales and other traditional and non-traditional secondary, preferred equity, GP-led and continuation vehicle transactions.
Prior to joining Proskauer, John earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2016.
