Austin McLeod

Austin D. McLeod is an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department. Austin assists clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including litigations, administrative proceedings, internal investigations, labor-management relations and claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, and breach of contract. He represents clients in a variety of industries, including health services, professional sports, real estate, and finance. 

Austin is co-chair of the Firm’s Associate Council and serves as a member of the Firm’s Black Lawyers Affinity Group. In 2021, he served as the Firm’s inaugural NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. Racial Justice Fellowship fellow, spending 6-months working full time with the organization focusing on impact litigation and advocacy.

Austin also maintains an active pro bono practice and has been awarded Proskauer’s Golden Gavel Award for excellence in pro bono work. He has represented clients in housing court, provided general advice and counsel to non-profits on labor and employment issues, including union representation cases, and conducted internal investigations for clients.  He also works on the Firm’s Election Protection Team.

Prior to joining Proskauer, Austin interned at the PGA TOUR and worked at a major financial services company as a paralegal and then as an executive compensation analyst. During law school, Austin worked as a law clerk for the National Football League, was a staff editor of the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law, and was President of the Student Lawyer Athletic Program.
