Austin McLeod

Austin D. McLeod is an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department. He represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including litigation, administrative proceedings, alternative dispute resolution, and internal investigations.  His practice includes labor-management relations—such as union representation proceedings, unfair labor practice charges, and collective bargaining disputes—as well as claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, and breach of contract.  He advises  clients across industries, including health services, professional sports, media and entertainment, the arts, real estate, and financial services.

Austin is a former co-chair of the firm’s Associate Council and a member of the firm’s Black Lawyers Affinity Group. In 2021, he served as Proskauer’s inaugural NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Racial Justice Fellow, focusing on impact litigation and advocacy initiatives.

Austin maintains an active pro bono practice and is a recipient of Proskauer’s Golden Gavel Award for excellence in pro bono service. He represents clients in housing court, advises  nonprofit organizations on labor and employment matters, and conducts internal investigations.  He also is a member of the firm’s Election Protection Team.

Prior to joining Proskauer, Austin interned with the PGA TOUR and worked at a major financial services company as a paralegal and an executive compensation analyst. During law school, Austin was a law clerk with the National Football League, was a staff editor of the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law, and was President of the Student Lawyer Athletic Program.
