Elise Bloom: Almost every juror has either worked or has a family member who has worked, and many have family members—or they themselves—have had either lost a job or have an experience in the workplace that they are not happy about.
In communicating to the jury, I need to find a way to make them understand that there is another side to the story and to overcome whatever personal bias they may come to the situation with.
To make them sympathize with the company’s position and understand that the actions that were taken were taken for a reason that make sense. It's really important to find a way to level the playing field.
