January 15, 2018 (New York) – International law firm Proskauer is proud to announce the launch of Proskauer Prep - a unique program for 1L women aimed at delivering practical insight into their first year at law school and Big Law practice.
Proskauer Prep participants will take part in a one-week intensive program held in its New York office. Proskauer partners, associates and alumni will lead classes covering topics such as test taking, building a resume, job search, and the business of law. They will learn how to brief a case and navigate law review and moot court, as well as optimal ways to network and to create and hone their executive brand.
“Attracting and retaining the very best talent is essential to our ability to deliver premier client service. The earlier we can cultivate relationships with and support the next generation of talented women lawyers, the better,” said Chairman Joe Leccese.
“The earlier you can get access to really good information and then apply it, the better off you will be. This program will give participants a week of invaluable relationship building and access to real life in Big Law and an effective head start on their legal career,” added partner Chantel Febus who is spearheading this program.
The Program’s application process begins this week and is open to women who will be 1Ls in the fall 2019. The first cohort of 30 Proskauer Prep participants will meet in NYC in June 2019. The Firm will provide housing, cover travel expenses and provide each participant with a stipend. Participants will also be guaranteed a callback interview during their 2L on-campus interview process.
Proskauer has created a number of innovative programs to support women lawyers throughout their legal career, including its Women’s Sponsorship Program and the Proskauer Women’s Alliance.
