LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2026 – Proskauer advised Crixet, an AI-powered, cloud-based platform for scientific writing and collaboration, on its acquisition by OpenAI. OpenAI has since evolved Crixet into Prism, its new AI-native workspace designed to help scientists develop ideas, reason through complex problems, collaborate and prepare research for publication.
Built on Crixet’s platform for creating and collaborating on complex scientific documents, Prism integrates advanced AI directly into scientists’ writing and research workflows. The platform enables researchers to explore and test hypotheses, draft and revise papers, work with complex equations and citations, search for and incorporate relevant scientific literature, and collaborate with colleagues in real time – all within a single cloud-based workspace.
The transaction was led by partners Chris Ahn (Private Equity/M&A) and Wai Choy (Technology, Media & Telecommunications). The core team also included associate Ryan Murphy (Private Equity/M&A), associate Jiyoon Kim (Technology, Media & Telecommunications), and partner Aaron Lee and associate Jacqueline Watson (Tax).
