NEW YORK, June 5, 2020 - Proskauer, a leading international law firm, announced that it represented Arkema Inc. in connection with a long-term partnership with Nutrien Ltd. Arkema is a global manufacturer of specialty and advanced materials, with annual sales of €8.7 billion, 20,500 employees and operations in 55 countries. Nutrien is the largest integrated agricultural company in the world.
The partnership involves a $150 mm project financing by Arkema Inc. for the development of a plant at Nutrien’s Aurora, North Carolina site capable of producing 40,000 metric tons per year of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF), and includes a long-term agreement for the supply of AHF to Arkema’s operations in Calvert City, Kentucky. The partnership secures the supply of the main raw material for Arkema’s fluoropolymer and fluorogas businesses, which have applications in air conditioning and refrigeration, and will support the company’s growth in batteries, 5G electronics, and water treatment segments.
