WASHINGTON, DC, March 25, 2026 – Proskauer is proud to share that Foreign Investment Watch has named partner Eric S. Johnson to its 2026 list of Top Advisors, which recognizes leading professionals who provide advice and counsel on foreign investment and national security concerns in the U.S. and abroad. The rankings are based on a variety of criteria, including experience, reputation, clients served, references and more.
As a partner based in Proskauer’s Washington, D.C. office, Eric focuses his practice on the nexus between cross-border investment and national security equities. He advises on transactions reviewed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and other national security-focused regulatory regimes, providing strategic guidance to navigate the intersection of private capital and government oversight.
Eric has extensive experience reviewing and advising on acquisitions of U.S. businesses, non-controlling investments involving critical technologies and sensitive data, and real estate transactions near sensitive government facilities by or involving non-U.S. investors or businesses. Prior to joining Proskauer, he served as Principal Deputy Chief of the Foreign Investment Review Section at the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Security Division, where he led efforts to protect national security from risks posed by foreign investment and advised senior executive Department leadership on a range of legal and policy issues relating to cross-border investment security.
