Brian has played pivotal roles in some of the most notable Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings, having represented and advocated for debtors, creditors, and acquirers in distressed situations.
Most recently, Brian was part of the Proskauer team that secured a historic Plan of Adjustment, filed by its client, the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and other entities. This first territorial debt restructuring in the history of the United States was a critical victory for Puerto Rico as it put an end to its four-year bankruptcy, cut billions in debt, and fixed a broken pension system.
Brian has also represented companies such as Enron, Washington Mutual, Foxwoods, United Companies Financial Corporation, New York Racing Association, Magna Entertainment, Classic Cable, Chrysler Properties, Olympia & York, The Leslie Fay Companies, Paracelsus Healthcare, Eastern Air Lines and Frontier Airlines in their chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings.
