NEW YORK, October 3, 2023 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is delighted to announce that partner Amanda Nussbaum has been named a 2023 Tax MVP by Law360. The annual list recognizes leading lawyers who have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in complex global matters, record-breaking deals and high-stakes litigation.
Chair of Proskauer’s Tax Department, Amanda’s practice concentrates on planning for and the structuring of domestic and international private investment funds, as well as advising those funds on investment activities and operational issues. She has significant experience structuring taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and stock and debt offerings, and also counseling both sports teams and sports leagues on a broad range of tax issues.
Amanda has served as lead tax counsel on some of the sports industry’s biggest headline-making deals, including the $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos to the Walton-Penner family; the Women’s Tennis Association’s $150 million strategic partnership with CVC Capital Partners; and Major League Soccer in its agreements with soccer icon Lionel Messi to play for Inter Miami FC. She also advised Church & Dwight on its acquisition of the Hero Mighty Patch® brand and other acne treatment products for $630 million and represented DataBank in its equity recapitalization, which valued the nationwide edge data center platform at $1.2 billion.
As the former chair of Proskauer’s Evaluation Committee and former member of the Hiring Committee, Amanda has played a leading role in the recruitment, mentoring, retention and promotion of the Firm’s women lawyers. She currently champions diverse associates through the Firm’s Pipeline Initiative and Mentoring Circle Program.
