Winnie Lee Fraser is Proskauer’s Global Finance Operational Head, where she partners with the Co-Heads of Global Finance and the Chief Operating Officer to drive strategic growth and operational excellence across the Firm’s market-leading Global Finance practices.

Winnie began her career at Proskauer as a transactional lawyer, advising on a broad range of corporate matters, including finance, capital markets, and mergers & acquisitions. She has made her entire legal career at the Firm, joining as a summer associate and returning as a corporate associate after earning her JD/MBA.  After nearly a decade of practicing law, Winnie transitioned to Firm leadership roles, bringing a legal perspective to complex operational and strategic challenges.

Winnie first served as Corporate Department Legal Director and later as Corporate Legal Operations Officer, overseeing all aspects of the Corporate business unit, which at the time comprised of more than 375 attorneys across 10 offices. In these roles, Winnie was responsible for strategy, operations, practice management, professional development, training, recruiting, resource management, evaluations, promotions, compensation and retention. She subsequently assumed a Firmwide leadership role as Chief Legal & Strategic Operations Officer, working with the General Counsel’s Office, the Chairman and the Managing Partner to oversee the execution of key business priorities, strategic initiatives, and high-value legal operational matters.  Among her notable accomplishments is the establishment of a Resilience and Response function responsible for crisis preparedness, business continuity planning, and the development of resilience frameworks for critical processes.  Winnie also graduated from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Education program, The Emerging COO: Driving Innovation and Operational Excellence. 

As Global Finance Operational Head, Winnie continues to focus on matters that require integrated substantive legal and business judgment, with an emphasis on both value creation and risk management.

Winnie currently serves as a member of Proskauer’s Operations Committee.  During her tenure at Proskauer, Winnie served on numerous Firmwide committees, including the Diversity Steering Committee, the Hiring Committee, and the Summer Associate Committee. Winnie was also formerly Chair of the Asian Lawyer Affinity Group and a member of the Associate Council.
