Sarah A. Emmerich

Sarah Emmerich is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice encompasses a broad range of litigation matters, including complex commercial litigation, white collar defense, and antitrust.

Sarah has a robust pro bono practice, with a focus on representing asylum seekers throughout all stages of the asylum application process. She also represents clients in uncontested divorce proceedings through various pro bono initiatives. Sarah serves on the steering committee of the Proskauer Women’s Alliance.

Sarah earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was an articles editor of the Annual Survey of American Law. During law school, Sarah served as co-chair of the Research, Education, and Advocacy to Combat Homelessness group, assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in New York City with a variety of legal matters. Sarah received the Ann Petluck Poses Memorial Prize and the Vanderbilt Medal.

Prior to law school, Sarah worked for two years as a paralegal in the Securities and Commodities Task Force at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Sarah received her B.A. in History, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
