Katryna is a technology specialist in the Litigation Department and a member of the Life Sciences Patent practice. She works with life science and pharmaceutical clients on domestic and foreign patent preparation, prosecution, patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
Katryna has scientific expertise in organic synthesis. She earned her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During her time in graduate school, she performed research on the synthesis of azo-dye sensors for detection of metal ions in water. Katryna also worked on small molecule synthesis of targets to fight antibiotic resistance through inhibition of the beta-barrel assembly machine.
Katryna received her B.S. in biochemistry with a minor in mathematics from Saint Vincent College. Her undergraduate research focused on how different colors and wavelengths of light can impact efficiency of light-dependent reactions.
