Jordan M. Shelton

Jordan Shelton is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Jordan advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, venture capital funds, as well as private and public companies in a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, growth equity financings, co-investments, recapitalizations, restructurings, and divestitures. He also provides post-acquisition support to clients in matters related to corporate governance and executive compensation.

Jordan has extensive experience representing buyers, sellers and private equity sponsors in connection with complex secondary transactions, including GP-led transactions, traditional sales and purchases of fund interests, fund recapitalizations, and restructurings. In addition, Jordan has experience working with private credit investors in non-traditional equity transactions, including debt-like preferred equity financings, equity kickers and co-investments, debt for equity swaps, lender remedies, and related transactions involving distressed companies.   

Jordan serves on the Pro Bono Initiative Committee and engages in a variety of pro bono efforts, including matters relating to immigration applications and advising not-for-profit organizations on formation, corporate governance, and related matters.

He earned a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he was a symposium editor for the American Journal of Law & Medicine and a director of the Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition.
