Emily Haverstick is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice encompasses complex commercial litigation and antitrust matters.

Emily maintains an active pro bono practice focused on children’s rights, education, immigration, and criminal justice. She has represented an incarcerated individual seeking resentencing in partnership with the Center for Appellate Litigation, advocated for a child with special education needs in a placement negotiation with the New York City Department of Education alongside Advocates for Children, and assisted clients with immigration matters, including adjustment of status applications and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) petitions.

Emily earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law and participated in the Interdisciplinary Child Advocacy Clinic — an interdisciplinary program combining law and social work to represent children and families in matters involving child welfare, education, and immigration. She also earned her Master of Science in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

Before law school, Emily served as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Philadelphia, where she spent a year tutoring and mentoring fourth-grade students. Emily received her B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, summa cum laude, from Boston College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
