Edouard de Rancher is a tax partner and a member of the Firm’s Private Equity M&A Group, as well as the Private Capital industry group.

Edouard’s practice focuses on domestic and international corporate taxation and tax litigation. He regularly advises on domestic and cross-border Private Equity and Corporate M&A transactions, as well as on the resolution of complex tax matters, including tax planning, reorganizations, financing arrangements and transfer pricing/international development. He also assists executives with personal tax matters and advises groups and institutions on their non-profit activities.

Edouard has significant experience in the healthcare and technology sectors. He has developed extensive tax knowledge across a broad range of industries, including medical devices and pharmaceutical products, healthcare professionals/clinics, hospitality, automotive, aviation, consulting, software and AI services, crypto-assets and data centers. He also advises on the establishment and operation of non-profit organizations as well as high-net-worth individuals on domestic and cross-border complex tax matters.

On the tax litigation side, Edouard has handled cases before all tiers of French courts up to the French Supreme Court and the French Constitutional Council and has led significant settlement negotiations with the French tax authorities.

Throughout his career, Edouard has worked closely with tax practitioners across numerous jurisdictions. He has consequently developed extensive experience in cross-border tax matters, including supply-chain reorganizations, international expansion, cross-border M&A, intellectual property transactions, cash-repatriation strategies, permanent-establishment matters and effective-place-of-management issues. He also has broad knowledge of several foreign tax systems, particularly U.S. tax rules.
