Courtland Cuevas

Courtland Cuevas is an associate in the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation, including antitrust and unfair competition, intellectual property, false advertising, privacy, white collar criminal defense, employment litigation and internal investigations. He has handled matters across a wide range of industries including entertainment, sports, consumer products, labor, real estate and agriculture.

He represents clients through all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation and investigation to discovery, dispositive motions and trial preparation.

Courtland recently served on the antitrust team that advised Wayne Sanderson Farms in its acquisition of Harrison Poultry, Inc., a Georgia poultry producer recognized for its proprietary “Golden Goodness” product line. The transaction included the transfer of all Harrison Poultry assets, along with its Bethlehem and Crawfordville operations, to Wayne Sanderson Farms.

As part of his pro bono practice, Courtland has worked with The Innocence Project.

Courtland earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played on the men’s basketball team that won the 2020 Big Ten Championship.

During law school, he served as a Dialectic Editor of the UCLA Law Review and President of the UCLA Sports Law Association, and he completed legal internships with Creative Artists Agency, UCLA Athletics, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before law school, Courtland worked as a producer at ESPN Madison and interned at the NBA League Office. He also served as a law clerk for Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.

Courtland is also active in his community, serving on the board of the Arcitec Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded by former NBA player Alando Tucker that empowers youth through programs integrating athletic development with business and educational principles.
