Courtland Cuevas is an associate in the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation, including antitrust, intellectual property, false advertising, privacy, white collar defense, and internal investigations. He has represented clients across a range of industries, including sports, entertainment, consumer products, employment, real estate, and agriculture.
Courtland has experience across all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigations through discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial.
In his pro bono practice, Courtland has worked with The Innocence Project.
Courtland earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was a member of the men’s basketball team that won the 2020 Big Ten Championship.
During law school, he served as a Dialectic Editor of the UCLA Law Review and as President of the UCLA Sports Law Association, and completed legal internships with Creative Artists Agency, UCLA Athletics, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before law school, Courtland worked as a producer at ESPN Madison and interned with the NBA League Office. He also served as a law clerk to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.
Courtland is active in his community and serves on the board of the Arcitec Foundation, a nonprofit founded by former NBA player Alando Tucker that provides youth programming integrating athletics with business and educational development. He has also presented at the University of Wisconsin School of Business and Cyber Athletix on how his experience as an athlete informs his approach to discipline, teamwork, and performing under pressure in his practice.
