Benjamin Freeman

Benjamin Freeman is an associate in Proskauer’s Sports Group. He works on a variety of corporate and transactional matters, focusing primarily on the media and sports betting sectors.

Benjamin’s experience includes advising the Big Ten Conference in its historic media rights agreements with CBS, FOX and NBC; the United States Golf Association in the transfer of its media rights from FOX to NBC; FanDuel in a first-of-its-kind media and sports wagering partnership in Canada with Bell Media; The Stars Group in its partnership with Fox Sports to launch FOX Bet; and the Washington Nationals in its partnership with BetMGM.

Benjamin also represents sports teams and leagues, including the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League, in various corporate matters, including team ownership transfers.

Benjamin earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where he served as co-president of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. While at Duke, he worked as a legal department intern in Major League Baseball’s Office of the Commissioner.

Prior to law school, Benjamin worked as a business analyst at Sports Media Advisors, where he worked on matters in the sports, television and digital media industries.
