October 9, 2018 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer was pleased to welcome back students from Francis Lewis High School for the 31st year of our Moot Court program. Associate Matthew Rotbart, who has overseen the program for the past few years, gave the opening remarks. Law clerk Carl Mazurek and associate Samantha Springer led the session and were joined by associate Seth Fiur, associate Jeffrey Warshafsky, paralegal Margaret Lederer, and project assistant Alexander Volpicello.
Through the Moot Court program, lawyers and staff meet with the students two evenings per week to help them strengthen their critical thinking and public speaking skills. Over the course of the semester, under the mentorship of Proskauer lawyers, students will develop carefully written arguments on a real-life matter in preparation for a competition at the end of season. Moot Court is the Firm’s longest running education initiative.
