Joseph Baumgarten is a Partner in the Labor & Employment Law Department and co-head of the Employment Litigation & Arbitration Group. His practice includes virtually all areas of labor and employment law (discrimination, wage/hour, whistleblowing, wrongful termination, defamation, executive compensation). He regularly:

  • defends employers in single and multiple plaintiff cases, and class actions, in federal and state courts, before federal, state and local administrative agencies and in FINRA, AAA and JAMS arbitration proceedings;
  • represents employers in collective bargaining negotiations and in representational and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board; and
  • advises and counsels employers with respect to internal investigations, restrictive covenants, reductions in force, restructurings, and labor and employment related issues related to corporate transactions.

Joseph practices across a range of different industries, including banking, insurance, broker-dealers, television, newspaper and magazine publishing, retail, health care and professional sports.
