NEW YORK, October 6, 2020 – Proskauer’s Environmental Practice Head, Gail S. Port has been elected Secretary of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL). Gail is also on the ACOEL Board of Regents.
The American College of Environmental Lawyers is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law. Membership is by invitation only and members are recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field. ACOEL members are dedicated to maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law, the administration of justice and the development of environmental law at both the state and federal level.
Gail is head of Proskauer’s interdepartmental Environmental Group. She has been practicing environmental law, land use and litigation for 44 years. Her practice is concentrated in counseling national and international clients on environmental issues and risks.
Gail advises her clients on environmental issues in complex, multi-site mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and restructuring matters, real estate transactions, financings, licensing and permitting environmental compliance, Superfund and hazardous waste cases, federal and state enforcement proceedings, capital markets transactions, sustainability and climate change issues, remediation matters, brownfields, multi-media environmental enforcement proceedings; environmental litigation and administrative proceedings, land use matters, and historic preservation.
