This year’s China Business Law Awards were based on hundreds of nominations received from China-focused corporate counsel and legal professionals around the world. In determining the winners, the nominations and justifications were considered carefully in combination with other factors, such as each firm’s major deals, cases and other notable achievements over the past year. Additionally, law firm clients were consulted and surveyed to ascertain the level of satisfaction with the services provided by each firm.
Most recently, Proskauer advised on numerous high-profile hospitality deals across the globe. We represented longtime client Accor in the launch of a global strategic partnership with Faena Group; in the sale of Accor’s interests in Huazhu, a China-based, NASDAQ-listed company; in taking full ownership of the sbe hotel brands; and continuing to advise Accor on its negotiations with Ennismore to form the world’s leading lifestyle operator in the hospitality sector. We represented Galaxy Entertainment Group on its hospitality agreements with a number of international hotel operators in connection with Phases 3 and 4 of its integrated resort gaming development in Macau.
Among our notable private equity deals in 2020, Proskauer advised Schroder Adveq in three China co-investments, two Asia secondaries matters including a GP-led restructuring, and five fund investments. The Firm also advised Partners Group in its co-investment into a limited partnership set up by a leading global GP to facilitate a privatization of an Indian listed company in the TMT sector.
