- Media, Entertainment & Sport
This year’s China Business Law Awards were chosen from a record number of nominations received from corporate counsel and legal professionals. The winners were carefully selected based on a combination of factors, including each firm’s landmark deals, cases and innovative service over the past year.
Most recently, Proskauer advised long-time client Accor in its agreement to sell an approximately 5% stake in Huazhu Group Limited for $451 million; represented the Greater Bay Area Fund, a US$12.8 billion state-sponsored private equity fund, in its first equity investment in a financial technology group based in the PRC; and advised OCI Capital, a Shanghai-based asset management firm, in the formation of a single asset fund for the acquisition of a real estate project in Hong Kong for a consideration of US$640 million.
Among other notable deals in 2019, the team represented Grifols S.A. in its entry into a strategic alliance with China’s leading blood plasma company, Shanghai RAAS Blood Products Co Ltd. The transaction is based on a valuation of approximately $4.3 billion for Grifols Diagnostic Solutions and approximately $7.4 billion for Shanghai RAAS.
