June 15, 2018 (LONDON, NEW YORK) – Proskauer partners Elise Bloom, Sandy Crawshaw-Sparks, Joanne Owen and Kate Simpson were named winners of Euromoney’s annual Women in Business Law Awards. The awards recognize the best female lawyers in the legal sector.
Elise was named best in the labor & employment: Americas category. Topping the labor & employment category for the fourth time, Elise also won in 2014, 2016, and 2017. Widely hailed as a leading employment litigator, she is one of the most creative and effective wage and hour and class/collective action defense lawyers as well as an experienced trial lawyer.
Sandy won best in media & entertainment: Americas. Sandy has been recognized twice before, in media & entertainment in 2015, and copyright in 2016. Sandy is noted for representing U2, Island Records, Madonna and Lady Gaga, as well as for consistently representing some of the biggest names in the music industry throughout her career.
Joanne Owen was named best in real estate: Europe. Jo advises on complex and significant mandates and has been involved in numerous landmark transactions in the UK and internationally, representing clients on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, developments and redevelopment schemes.
Kate Simpson won best in investment funds: Europe. Kate advises on the establishment and structuring of a wide range of UK and international investment funds, secondary private equity portfolio transactions on both the buy and sell side, as well as synthetic secondary and co-investment structures.
In addition, the Firm was shortlisted for best international firm for diversity, best international mentoring program, and best international firm for women in business law.
