March 12, 2020 (New York) – Recognizing the 100 most influential lawyers in New York state, partners Paul Salvatore, Betsy Plevan and Michael Cardozo were named to New York City & State’s 2020 Law Power 100 List for the second consecutive year.
Litigation partner Michael Cardozo was recognized as New York City’s longest-tenured corporation counsel, serving under Mayor Bloomberg from 2002 to 2013, before returning to Proskauer, where he handles commercial litigation and suits brought on behalf of, as well as against, various states and government officials, including defending Governor Cuomo in two different litigations. Paul Salvatore, partner in the Labor & Employment Department is noted for representing the Real Estate Board of New York and helping negotiate labor agreements for Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in U.S. history. Known for her expertise on sexual harassment and other discrimination issues, Betsy Plevan, also a partner in the Labor & Employment Department, has successfully defended clients in diverse industries before juries and in arbitration. She has also conducted investigations at many organizations including CBS News. Most recently, Betsy has successfully represented The Metropolitan Opera against defamation claims.
