HONG KONG, October 28, 2020 – We have been named a finalist for Real Estate Law Firm of the Year by the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Hong Kong Law Awards. The 19th annual ALB Hong Kong Law Awards will honor the outstanding performance of legal teams in the region and will be hosted virtually on November 27.

Our lawyers have developed expertise in the legal areas that are critical in real estate matters, such as bankruptcy, tax, transactional and finance. Our practice is global and cross-disciplinary, which allows us to deploy our expertise for virtually any complex real estate project, when and where we need it across the globe.

Last year, the Firm’s Real Estate team was praised by China Business Law Awards, noting our role in advising longtime client Accor in its acquisition of Tribe, Australia’s first integrated modular hotel brand; Formosa International in the sale of a 51% stake in the Regent Hotels and Resorts brand to InterContinental Hotels Group, which was named “M&A Deal of the Year” at HICAP; and Country Garden, one of China’s largest real estate developers, in a series of real estate projects. Proskauer’s Real Estate team also advised Accor in selling a 5% stake in Huazhu Group Limited for US$451 million as part of an ongoing strategic alliance between both groups. In 2016, we assisted Accor in establishing that relationship and since then, Accor’s investment has increased by 450%.
