NEW YORK, August 12, 2022 – Leading international law firm Proskauer is pleased to announce that Partner Lee Popkin has been named a Young Lawyer of the Year (Litigation) finalist in The American Lawyer’s 2022 Industry Awards.
Lee, who is co-head of Proskauer’s Product Liability & Consumer Litigation Group, represents clients in a wide range of industries in high-stakes trials in state and federal courts throughout the country. Most recently, she was instrumental in securing a landmark victory for Monsanto in a case brought by a woman claiming that use of the herbicide Roundup caused her non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A California jury rejected the claims, returning a defense verdict on all counts.
Lee’s other recent notable matters include successful representation of Tiffany & Co. in its long-standing trademark dispute with Costco over the wholesaler’s use of TIFFANY to sell diamond engagement rings and securing a complete dismissal, affirmed by the Second Circuit, of a breach of contract claim brought by Cipriani against client Mr. Chow.
Finalists for the annual Industry Awards were selected from more than 700 submissions. The Young Lawyer of the Year Award recognizes a lawyer under 40 who has shown exceptional work in any litigation practice within the past two years. Winners will be announced at The American Lawyer Industry Awards gala in New York City on Nov. 10.
