June 28, 2018 (BOSTON, NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES) – IAM Patent 1000 - The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners has recognized Proskauer’s Patent Law Group in New York and Massachusetts, as well as eight partners in California, Massachusetts, and New York. IAM Patent 1000 seeks to identify world-class private patent firms and lawyers based on their depth of knowledge, market presence, and client feedback.
In Massachusetts, IAM Patent 1000 recommended the Boston office for transactions, prosecution, and litigation. The Firm’s Boston’s office was praised for its “attentive, resourceful, dedicated lawyers” and for being a “team [that] is as impressive with filing as it is going to battle in the courtroom, meaning there is no need for clients to divide their IP work between different firms.” In New York, the Firm was recommended for its life sciences prosecution and transactional practices, partially due to its recent “slew of astute hires.”
The following lawyers were also recognized individually for their contributions and skill in their fields:
- Steve Bauer (Massachusetts: Litigation): “A thoroughbred oral advocate who has appeared in over 30 cases in the Eastern District of Texas.”
- Joe Capraro (Massachusetts: Prosecution): “a portfolio management whizz with real business smarts” whose “signature is on plenty of lucrative global licensing agreements.”
- Fangli Chen (Massachusetts: Prosecution): “the driving force behind the expansion of the prosecution practice” who “effortlessly secured” “cutting-edge new patents.”
- Daryn Grossman (New York: Transactions): “Transactions maven”; “instrumental in building what is one of the more dynamic practices in this ultra-competitive [life sciences] sector.”
- Sige Gutman (California: Litigation): “is one of the dynamos behind Proskauer Rose’s life sciences practice”; “very bright and talented, and a tough opponent who keys in on the critical points and articulates them clearly.”
- Ken Rubenstein (New York: Transactions): “the guru on standard essentiality and a professional famed for his sheer intellectual horsepower; he can cut through technical and legal complexity.”
- Jim Shalek (New York: Litigation): “as much a gifted counsellor as he is a litigator and has a knack for optimising the market position of his clients by making the right portfolio development moves.”
- Baldo Vinti (New York: Litigation): “prolific commentator who gets fired up by innovation and does a fantastic job bridging the legal and business worlds.”
