Matthew Triggs is a partner in the Litigation Department and serves as head of that practice in Florida. He is also head the Firm’s fiduciary litigation group.
Matt specializes in fiduciary and probate litigation, representing both corporate and individual fiduciaries in a wide array of probate and trust disputes. His experience encompasses breach of fiduciary duty claims, surcharge actions, removal proceedings, and challenges related to wills and trusts. Additionally, he provides legal counsel to financial institutions on various commercial matters, including contested receivership hearings, contract disputes, commercial foreclosures and FINRA arbitrations.
Matt is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of its Fiduciary Litigation Committee. He previously served as chair of The Florida Bar’s Probate Rules Committee and led the Trust Law Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. He was also vice chair of the Section’s Probate Law and Procedure Committee. Matt currently serves as Group Chair of the American Bar Association's Litigation and Professional Responsibility Group. A prolific author, he frequently speaks on fiduciary litigation topics.
