Matthew Triggs

Matthew Triggs is a partner in the Litigation Department and serves as head of that practice in Florida. Matt heads the Firm’s fiduciary litigation practice, which has been named best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.  

With a particular focus on fiduciary and probate litigation, Matt has represented both corporate and individual fiduciaries in a wide variety of probate and trust disputes, including breach of fiduciary duty claims, surcharge actions, removal proceedings, and will contests and trust disputes. He also represents financial institutions in a broad array of commercial matters ranging from contested receivership hearings and contract disputes to commercial foreclosures and FINRA arbitrations.

Matt is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Matt is a past chair of The Florida Bar’s Probate Rules Committee and is actively involved in the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, where he formerly served as chair of the Trust Law Committee and was a former vice chair of the Probate Law and Procedure Committee. Matt also currently serves as Group Chair of the American Bar Association’s TE Litigation, Ethics and Malpractice Group. He is also a prolific author and regularly presents on fiduciary litigation topics.
