James W. Barnett

James earned his J.D. from Tulane Law School where he graduated cum laude. During law school, James served as a law clerk at a plaintiff’s firm in California specializing in employment litigation, and also as a Pro Bono extern at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz in New Orleans, LA. James was also a member of the Tulane Legal Assistance Program, Tulane Sports Law Society, and Civil Law Society.

Prior to law school, James graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi with degrees in Business Administration and Aerospace Studies. Following college, James served eight years in the United States Air Force (USAF) as an Officer and Special Agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), which included one tour in Afghanistan. As an AFOSI Special Agent, James specialized in conducting and supervising highly sensitive counterintelligence investigations where he gained a myriad of legal experience assisting Judge Advocate Generals and Assistant United States Attorneys in prosecuting their cases. While on active duty, James earned his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
