Cara Olie is an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department.
Cara regularly assists clients in complex workplace investigations, updating workplace policies and handbooks, providing antidiscrimination and anti-harassment training and general advice and counsel on compliance with federal, state and local employment laws. She represents and counsels employers on a in all areas of employment law, including the defense of claims of employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations and breach of restrictive covenants in state and federal court.
Cara also represents and counsels clients regarding a broad range of labor-management relations issues, including collective bargaining, administration of collective bargaining agreements, arbitration, matters before the National Labor Relations Board and related litigation. She has also advised clients on the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Cara worked at another global law firm in Chicago, and worked in Human Resources at a global investment bank. While in law school, Cara focused her coursework on labor and employment law, interned with Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, in the office of the General Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board, and at the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
