Ben Davis is a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of The Private Credit and Finance Groups.
Ben’s practice focuses on advising on acquisition and leveraged finance facilities and debt restructurings in the middle market and upper market. He represents a variety of clients including private credit funds, alternative lenders and private equity sponsors on unitranche loans, second-lien financings, first out / last out structures, holdco PIK and other subordinated facilities, preferred equity investments, litigation funding and distressed situations among other innovative, first-in-kind transactions involving private sources of capital.
Ben is recognised as a 'leading individual' for acquisition finance by Legal 500 UK, where he has been noted as "understanding the requirements of alternative lenders", "having significant traction with alternative capital providers" and having "a deep knowledge of the market" and "a wealth of experience (acting for) private credit funds on numerous deals, including cross border transactions including European and US matters."
Chambers UK highlighted that Ben "gets the deal done and is very knowledgeable and experienced" and has an "ability to work [on] complex deals." He has also been recognized as a highly regarded banking and financial restructuring lawyer by IFLR 1000.
Ben is a member of the LMA working party developing the new precedent unitranche intercreditor agreement.
