Alexandra Bargoot is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Asset Management Litigation Group. Her practice includes a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, with a focus on private investment funds and private credit clients, involving both private disputes and regulatory issues.
She helps clients with disputes pertaining to sales of investments and portfolio companies involving breach of contract and fraud claims, investigations of claims of aiding and abetting liability, and assessing creditor’s rights.
Alexandra also advises clients on matters involving SEC examinations and investigations, as well as DOJ investigations, including on issues related to pay-to-play violations, obligations under limited partnership agreements, and investments related matters.
In addition to her work in the asset management sector, Alexandra has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, representing pharma clients in litigation and arbitrations including disputes related to drug development, asset sales, earn-out provisions, and mergers.
One of the most active litigations in the U.S. today, Alexandra is also part of the Proskauer team representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico in the restructuring of Puerto Rico’s debt.
During her time at Cornell Law School, Alexandra served as senior online notes editor for the Cornell International Law Journal. She also clerked for Judge Frederick Brown of the Massachusetts Appeals Court in the summer of 2014.
