Partner and Chairman Emeritus Joe Leccese shared his insight with The Practice, a publication by the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession, in an article about how lawyers are helping to navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the sports sector.
Emphasizing Major League Soccer’s role in suspending the game, Joe explained that MLS and other major sports leagues faced imperative choices in the absence of straightforward guidance and decisive action by official actors.
Reflecting on how lawyers and sports executives came together to navigate safely resuming play amid the pandemic, Joe said, “When the history of this is written, it should be clear that at least in sports the private sector led.”
