September 22, 2016 (NEW YORK) – Labor & Employment partner Elise Bloom has been recognized among the “Top Women in Law” by the New York Law Journal in its inaugural list highlighting the outstanding work being done by female lawyers across New York state.
Elise serves as a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and co-head of the Class & Collective Actions Group and has a distinguished track record of success both in and out of the courtroom. She has 30+ years of experience in defending employers against collective and class action claims and in addressing a wide range of general employment issues through counseling and employer training programs.
Elise has played a leading role in various significant matters, including representing clients such as Fox Searchlight Pictures, Condé Nast and Barneys, to name a few, in unpaid intern cases; Major League Baseball and its member clubs in class action suits; and Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc. in a multiplaintiff action filed by bottling facility operators alleging race discrimination, hostile work environment and retaliation.
She championed Proskauer’s inaugural Value Insights: Delivering Value in Labor and Employment Law survey which provides the legal market with a better understanding of how labor and employment matters are managed and also identified trends in the area.
Outside of the courtroom, she is known as an advocate for women and a dedicated supporter of mentorship and career development for junior lawyers. Elise serves as a board member of Women in Law Empowerment Forum and is actively involved with Women Corporate Directors.
Some of Elise’s recent accolades include being named "Best in Labor & Employment" by Euromoney in its 2016 and 2014 Women in Business Law awards and one of the "Top 250 Women in Litigation." She has also been lauded as a 2015 Law360 Employment MVP of the Year. For the last six consecutive years, Elise has been named one of the "Most Powerful Employment Attorneys" by SHRM and Lawdragon.
